Mother Daughter Jewelry Making Time 2 (ages 7 to adult) Houston

Girls, bring your mother, grandmother or significant adult to the library for a multi-generational craft time.  Arrive anytime between 3:30 and 6:30 PM to have a fun time together making jewelry out of hardware and beads.  All supplies will be provided for free!

Additional parking is available in the shared lot by the Catholic Church.

Coloring Contest (ages 5-10) Houston

Children ages 5-10 are invited to stop by the Houston Branch and pick up a Captain Book coloring page.  All entries must be turned in at Houston by 5:30 PM on Saturday, August 13th.  A winner will be chosen from the 5 to 7 year-old group and a winner will be chosen from the 8 to 10 year-old group.  The prize to be awarded to the winner in each age group is a 300 piece Disney Look and Find Family Fun Puzzle.

Immediate families of library employees are not eligible to win.  Entrants need not be present to win.

On Your Mark, Get Set, DRAW! with Jeff Nicholas (K-8th graders or older) - Houston

If you've never been to one of our programs led by Jeff Nicholas, MARK YOUR CALENDAR!  This program is a must for summer fun at the library!  Jeff is an educational artist and veteran teacher who entertains his audience with original illustrations of humorous poems and stories, while teaching how to create his "quick and quirky" characters with simple draw along methods.
