Class Schedule: January - April 2015

Windows 8.1 Basics: Learn about Windows 8.1 features such as tiles, charms bar and other new features. Keyboard and mouse skills are required. A Windows 8.1 laptop can be provided or you are welcome to bring your own Windows 8.1 laptop or tablet. Don't forget your Microsoft account and password information. There are two sessions to choose from. Registration is required and begins two weeks prior to each class. Space is limited to 6 adults. Call or stop by the Reference Desk to register. Class duration: 2 hours.

Open Tech Lab: Do you have technology questions or need further assistance with OverDrive and Zinio? Bring your eReaders, tablets, laptops or other electronic devices and stop in anytime during this two-hours open lab for one-on-one assistance on a variety of computer topics. There are multiple sessions & locations to choose from. Registration is not required and the lab is first-come, first-served.

Social Media Basics: Learn the basics of Facebook and Twitter including creating an account, posting, tweeting and protecting your privacy online. An e-mail address is required. Windows 7 laptops will be provided for this class. Keyboard and mouse skills are required. There are two sessions to choose from. Registration is required and begins two weeks prior to each class. Space is limited to 6 adults. Call or stop by the Reference Desk to register.

eBooks & More Basics: Learn how to download eBooks, audiobooks and streaming videos from the library.  Don't forget to bring your account and password information (i.e. Apple ID, Microsoft account, etc.) You will need your library card number and password. There are two sessions & locations to choose from. Registration is required and begins two weeks prior to each class. Please call the location you wish to attend to register for their class. Space is limited to 6 adults. Class duration: 2 hours.

Schedule a free 60 minute one-on-one computer training session with a library staff member. Training sessions are for adult and by appointment only. Available training sessions are Windows 7 Basics, Windows 8 Basics, Internet Basics, E-mail Basics, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Library Catalog & Databases. Computer training sessions are conducted on library PCs, patrons must have a valid Clark County Public Library card for training sessions.To schedule an appointment, please fill out the One-on-One Computer Training Session form and turn it in at the Reference Desk or at any Clark County Public Library location. Library staff cannot provide assistance with: secretarial work (typing or proofreading), online shopping, online tax assistance, social media (Facebook, Twitter, Skype, etc.), installing hardware or software, or troubleshooting problems on home computer or laptop.

Schedule a free 60 minute one-on-one, eReader training session with a library staff member. Training sessions are for adults and by appointment only. Training is for any handheld device, i.e. Kindle, Nook, iPad, Android Tablet, or Windows devices. Users will learn how to connect to the library’s Wif-fi, download free digital content (eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, etc.), and other features of your device.  To schedule an appointment, please fill out the One-on-One eReader/Tablet Training Session form and turn it in at the Reference Desk or at any Clark County Public Library location.
