The Friends of the Clark County Public Library is a non-profit organization with a constitution and by-laws, whose purpose is to promote the interest and welfare of the Library a cultural, educational, and recreational asset for all of the citizens of Clark County.

The Friends hold an annual meeting to elect officers for the next year, and three Trustees are elected for three year terms. The officers also meet several times during the year to conduct organizational business.

The Friends is a separate organization that supports the Library. The Friends organization works closely with Director, Sally Rizer, and the Library Staff to provide funding support and assistance for programming and special needs.

In addition to their dues, the Friends organize and conduct an Annual Used Book Sale at the Main Library. Funds raised from the Book Sale are used to support traveling exhibits and the Summer Reading Program.

What can I do as a Friend of the Library?

Your membership dues and additional contributions will help fund such projects as the Summer Reading Program, presentation of awards to recognize leadership in literacy, and provide refreshments for programs or special activities. Most of all, your participation can bring fresh ideas to promote interest in the Clark County Public Library.

Your contribution of time and money will not only benefit the Library, but all of Clark County. Your interest in using the Main Library, one of its Branches, or the Bookmobile, will encourage your family and friends to seek their own educational or recreational opportunities.
