Research Request Guidelines
Limited research is available by mail request to the Genealogy and Local History Librarian. Due to staff and time limitations, we are unable to provide extensive genealogical research on a patron's behalf. Requests should be of a specific nature, i.e. Is Josiah Wilson listed in the city directories in the 1920's? A request for "all the information you can find about Josiah Wilson and his family" will be returned with a referral for research assistance.
Genealogical copies sent through the mail are $1.50 per item requested. Please send your request along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope, keeping in mind that a large envelope might be required if many copies are involved. You will be billed if additional payment is required. At this time, genealogy research requests will not be accepted through e-mail.
Please be aware that we respond to correspondence in order of receipt. Depending on the number and size of the requests pending, it may take a few weeks to receive an answer. We ask that you be patient. If you have not heard anything within a month, feel free to contact us to check the status of your request.
